NotiVault Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 5, 2026
NotiVault is a fully offline notification-history app. Your notification content is processed and stored only on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share it.
1. Developer and contact
NotiVault is developed by Himanshu Rathi. Questions about this policy may be sent to thehimanshurathi@gmail.com.
2. Information the app accesses
If you voluntarily enable Android Notification Access, NotiVault can read notification information made available by Android, including the source app, sender or title, notification text, time, and notification status. This access is required for the app's core notification-history feature.
NotiVault does not access old notifications from before access was enabled, and it cannot access message content that another app does not place in a notification.
3. How information is used
The app uses notification information only to build the history, search results, app groups, and sender groups you see inside NotiVault. Processing happens locally on your device.
4. Collection, sharing, and tracking
- No personal data or notification content is sent off your device.
- No information is sold or shared with third parties.
- No advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, accounts, or subscriptions are used.
- The Android app does not request internet access.
5. Storage and security
Saved notifications are kept in the app's private local database, protected by Android's app sandbox and your device security. App backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for this data. No method of device storage is guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so you should protect your phone with a screen lock and install trusted software only.
6. Retention and deletion
By default, NotiVault automatically deletes notifications older than 30 days. You can choose a shorter or longer duration, or “Never delete,” in Settings. You can also delete all history, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. These actions permanently remove the locally stored history. Because we never receive the data, there is no server-side copy for us to access or delete.
7. Permissions and system settings
Notification Access: lets the app observe new notifications for its core history feature. You can revoke access at any time in Android settings.
Battery optimization exemption: may be requested to improve capture reliability while the screen is off. This setting is optional, controlled by Android, and can be changed later. NotiVault does not use location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, call logs, or external storage permissions.
8. Children
NotiVault is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children or anyone else because the app does not transmit user data.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date. Any future version that introduces a material data practice will disclose it before the relevant access is requested.
10. Your choices
You may use the app without granting access to review its interface and policy, though notification capture will not work. You can disable Notification Access, change battery settings, switch theme, or delete saved history at any time.
